This week’s female artist is Marguerite Gerard. Not a whole lot is know about her, unfortunately. We know that she was born Grasse, France on January 28, 1761 and died in Paris on May 18, 1837. She was the aunt of the artist Alexandre-Evariste Fragonard and she actually studied under him in the mid-1770s. He taught her painting, drawing, and printmaking.
